4/12/22 Writing the Song
It was early morning in the city. The sun was coming in through the windows and I had this seed of an idea. Blue and gold - the darkness and the light. It's a base emotive image to set up more complex images to come.
In the end, this song became about a woman's journey. It's about her strength and her ability to make light of the pain. There's a beauty that comes with that complexity.
But in this video, I'm just figuring it all out.

Jess and I sat down to listen to my mix and talk about some of the lyrics that I changed. This is a mix that I made that I liked. Although in the end I sent it to Oz Fritz as I usually do. He's a GRAMMY-winning engineer for his work with Tom Waits. Everything he does is so good. But I always like to give it a shot on my own.
